How to Rock the Turtle Neck Trend this Season

I’ve had a love hate relationship all my life with turtle neck sweaters. I have recently been loving this sweater I got from J.Crew. It is so soft and very comfortable and I have worn this sweater so many times and have achieved different looks with it.

A turtle neck sweater is honestly one of the best decision you could make. This is because of how cozy and warm it is as well as being  trendy and sophisticated. This fall, retro-striped turtle neck sweaters have been such a fashion statement. I pair them with my jean jacket, overall or my cute jean skirt. If you are to style it with a mini jean skirt, please consider wearing tights or some cute over the knee boots to keep warm. Please don’t catch a cold trying to look trendy.

I wore this look to church and got so many compliments. I paired my turtle neck sweater with my American Eagle high waisted mom jean.  You never want to get your turtle neck sweater to tight. They could become uncomfortable after a long period of time. These ones with the frills at the end of the sleeves from J.Crew take the simple turtle neck look to the next level.

I got this sweater from  the J.crew Factory a year back and I think they discontinued it. I have linked several ones  below that are just as cute and have got retro stripes.

To Achieve a Street Style or Urban Look

This is probably one of my favorite looks to achieve with a turtle neck sweater. The Street Style look can easily be achieved by the type of jacket the look is paired with.  To achieve a more street style vibe, a puffer jacket would really work well with a plain turtle neck sweater.

To achieve a seventies street style, you pair your jacket with a turtle neck sweater that has retro-stripes. I personally love to pair it with a jean jacket or a nice olive parka. That brings the element of Urban Chic to your outfit as well.

To Achieve a Contemporary or Chic Look

This look can be worn at a classic business meeting or a presentation. To achieve this look you would pair your turtle neck sweater  with a blazer or a classic double button coat. This style really speaks for you as it really brings an element of a strong career driven person t0 the workplace and definitely is a confidence booster.

This style can be finished up with trousers and a nice pair of stilettos. If you are not a stiletto girl you could wear a nice baseline sneaker. Nike and Adidas have a good selection of white baseline sneakers.

I haven’t worn a turtleneck since I was a kid because having something on my neck bothered me. I would love to give them another try, though . . . they look so cute and cozy!
